So why is it important to undertake mountain bike training? When people go skiing or snowboarding for the first time most will have lessons to gain an understanding of the sport and enhance their skills before experiencing the slopes on their own. Mountain biking works in exactly the same way. Having lessons and tuition can ensure inexperienced riders are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to progress their riding and give them a positive experience of the sport. This is exactly what our Introduction to Mountain Biking Course offers. Using the Timberland Trail at Ashton Court Estate (Bristol) you will have the opportunity to learn the following: • Mountain bike preparation (safety checks) • Correct riding position • Correct use of gears • Weight shift • Effective breaking techniques • Introduction to single track • Balancing Courses Dates 2010 - Saturday 6th March (Fully booked) - Saturday 20th March (Fully booked) - Saturday 17th April (Fully booked) - Saturday 1st May (Places available) - Sunday 13th June (Places available) - Saturday 3rd July (Places available) - Sunday 8th August (Places available) - Saturday 11th September (Places available) - Sunday 10th October (Places available)
